Every person's life is an interesting mix. In this book, the author engages us with stories and thoughts from when he was as young as 12 years old. The stories are an interesting mix and touch base on a lot of topics like harassment, rape, prostitution, religion, expressing oneself etc. as well as some lighter topics like movies, entertainment and a love story in three parts.
My views: Since the book is based purely on the author's thoughts, perceptions and opinions; there is a lot of room for debates and discussion about those topics. I personally did not agree with the author's POV about correlation between decrease of rape and legalization of prostitution, because well a correlation does not exist- and it is merely a way of saying "hope the women around me (aka privileged women) are safe while we push the women who are less privileged into the hands of rapists, assaulters, etc.". But that is a discussion for another time. That chapter more or less soured the whole book for me, and I considered DNRing it. But I decided to keep an open mind about the rest of the stories, and it was okay. The stories/write-ups are short, and written nicely. Most are narrated as a dialogue between two friends, and it makes it easier to follow the ideas.
My ratings: 3/5. The book may or may not gel with you, the only way to find out is by giving it a read!
