The Lulu Duologues by Vivek S. Patwardhan

Author: Vivek S. Patwardhan
Genre: Blogs, musings.
Pages: 215

Some of the wittiest, funniest and cringiest conversations are the ones that we have with ourselves. Many a times I have thought that I could write a best seller if only I had the ability to record all my musings and conversations with myself. Vivek Patwardhan has done the same, and brought before us an amazing, funny and thought-provoking read. The book has comic elements, sarcasm, self criticism, shade towards politicians and reality checks in healthy measure. All in all, this is a fun read.

About the book:
The book has 70 short chapters. Each chapter is a dialogue between the author and his pet parrot Lulu, which is the personification of his own thoughts (his alter ego of sorts, if I may...). The chapters cover various topics from relationships to politics, cities in India and it's people, various personal dilemmas, etc. I really liked that the conversations are open ended and do not end on a preachy note. The book does not give off a holier than thou vibe, kudos to the author for keeping it the way it is.

My Ratings: 4/5.
Also this book needs a different cover.... The cover really sells the book short. Though we say don't judge a book by its cover, we must not forget Dikhawe ki duniya hai...
